Special Topics in Nuclear Physics: The Neutrino
Tuesdays and Thursdays 2-3:30 4134 Knudsen

The neutrino has proven to be the most elusive of the fundamental particles. One could make the argument that it is also the most important as it's physics is tied to everything from the formation of large scale structure in the universe to the fission rate in nuclear reactors. This class aims to give an overview of the physics of the neutrino from big bang relic neutrinos to those made in accelerators and even ultra-high energy neutrinos made in cosmic accelerators. As it is a particular interest of mine, we will also discuss application of neutrinos to nuclear non-proliferation.

The end of each class will be devoted to discussing recent or relevant articles.
